Families have been central to TV shows almost since the invention of the medium. Whether we’re talking about the Rockwellian families from classic sitcoms, sprawling soap-opera dynasties, dysfunctional reality TV clans, or the blended families of the 21st century, TV shows have featured just about every permutation of family you can think of. Now the Great Pop Culture Debate wants to look back at TV families past and present to determine the best TV family of all time — and we need YOUR opinions to do it!
Below find a list of just about every significant TV family we could think of. (If you’re taking this poll on a mobile device, we recommend clicking here for ease of use.) We included families from just about every genre, but the family unit must have been a critical component of the show’s plot (so for instance, the Gellers from “Friends” do not count, as the family component was secondary or tertiary to the action). Pick as many TV families as you like.
